21st Annual Milwaukee River Challenge
The Milwaukee River Challenge is back for its 21st year on Saturday, September 17. The event begins at 9 a.m. and attracts some of the best high school, collegiate and club teams in the Midwest for a competitive, friendly race on the river. Follow participants through the heart of downtown Milwaukee as they navigate narrow passageways and other challenges. Be sure to frequent one of the restaurants or bars along the Riverwalk and enjoy race action throughout the day.

MKE Night Market: July 13
On July 13, Westown Association hosted the second Milwaukee Night Market of the summer. During the 5-hour event, an estimated 30,000 people attended the Market to dance, enjoy delicious food and support dozens of local vendors. Beer History Exhibit Returns to the Milwaukee County Historical Society
Brought back by popular demand, guests can visit the Milwaukee County Historical Society‘s latest exhibit, Brew City: The Story of Milwaukee Beer. Enjoy more than 75,000 authentic artifacts, over a millionhistorical photos and other interactive components when you visit. It’s unique, all-new design allows community members to experience a blast from the past with a modernized touch. Be sure to check out the museum on Monday, or Wednesday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $8 per person and children 12 and under are free.

MKE Night Market: June 15
The Milwaukee Night Market returned to West Wisconsin Avenue for the first time this summer on Wednesday, June 15. It was amazing to see the thousands of people that visited our neighborhood to support the 100+ local vendors at the Market. In the best interest of the safety of our vendors and attendees, we made the decision to close the Market early due to high winds and severe storms that came through later in the evening. New Entertainment Venues Proposed for Westown
With two proposed venues announced last month, it looks like Westown will continue to grow as entertainment heart of downtown. Transforming a long vacant corner of West Michigan Street, Bear Development and Kacmarcik Enterprises announced plans to develop the Iron District which will be home to an 8,000-seat soccer stadium, indoor concert venue, hotel and apartment complex. Over at the former Bradley Center site, FPC Live is looks to bring a multi-level complex to the Deer District and is expected to host over 135 events annually.
