    2022 Milwaukee Veteran’s Day Parade

    The Wisconsin Veterans Day Parade will march through downtown streets on Saturday, November 5. The parade steps off at 11 a.m. at MKL Drive and Wisconsin Avenue, traveling east to Water Street, then turning north where it will end on Juneau Avenue.     Central Library Business Commons Opens

    The Milwaukee Public Library celebrates Central Library’s new Business Commons with a grand opening. It sits within the library’s Business, Science and Technology Department and works to accommodate remote working and study, networking, collaboration and more. The Business Commons includes unique features within the space, such as a flexible co-working area, charging ports, Chromebooks, free Wi-Fi, printers, scanners, desktop computers, conference rooms and more.     Milwaukee Pro Soccer Coming to Westown

    Even though kick-off won’t take place until 2025, local soccer fans are already looking forward to watching professional outdoor soccer in Westown. The Iron District development will be home to a USL Championship team, the second-highest tier of professional soccer in the country, along with Marquette University Men’s and Women’s soccer and lacrosse programs. The Milwaukee Pro Soccer club will be community-centric, so fans will be involved in the process of naming the team, selecting the team colors and creating the team crest.     At the Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 Annual Meeting on October 13, Westown Association was awarded with the 2022 Heart of the Community Award.     9th Annual Westown Golf Open: September 28

    The 9th Annual Westown Golf Open, presented by Gardner Builders, was held on Wednesday, September 28 at Western Lakes Golf Club. This year, 88 golfers spent the day fostering relationships while also raising funds for the organization. Thank you to all the golfers and volunteers that participated, as well as the 56 local businesses that supported the event through sponsorship and by donating prizes to the raffle and silent auction. We are pleased to share that the 2022 Westown Golf Open raised over $20,000, which directly supports our mission of creating a more vibrant downtown neighborhood.     MKE Night Market: September 21

    The 2022 season of the Milwaukee Night Market wrapped up on Wednesday, September 21 with an estimated 30,000 people coming to West Wisconsin Avenue to celebrate the last day of summer. As back-to-school season rolled around, Westown Association invited Milwaukee’s local college students returning to their campuses to visit the MKE Night Market and experience the best of the city they’ll call home for the upcoming school year. Over 200 students participated in our College Night digital scavenger hunt and received a free Night Market t-shirt as a reward.     MKE Night Market: August 17

    The Milwaukee Night Market returned to West Wisconsin Avenue for the third time this summer on August 17. It was another beautiful summer night filled with music, dancing, food and art. We estimate another 30,000 people attended the Night Market in August, helping create a unique energy and environment in our downtown neighborhood. The final Night Market of the summer is on Wednesday, September 21 from 5 to 10 p.m. We hope you’ll join us for one last celebration of the best our city has to offer.     Lucky Clover Irish Pub Grand Opening

    On Friday, August 26, the Lucky Clover Irish Pub opens to the public at 1048 N MLK Drive. At Lucky Clover, you’ll enjoy a mix of an Irish and American tavern with a modern twist and fun atmosphere. For its opening weekend, Lucky Clover is open Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. and will drink specials and featured DJs each night. Food service isexpected to begin in October.
