The Milwaukee River Challenge
The Milwaukee River Challenge returns to the Menomonee and Milwaukee Rivers on Saturday, October 5. This annual event attracts rowers and spectators from throughout the Midwest. Participants will travel along a three-mile course that comes right through downtown Milwaukee. You can watch the race from one of the recommended vantage points listed here.

Doors Open Milwaukee
Doors Open Milwaukee returns September 28 and 29! Doors Open is an annual celebration of Milwaukee’s architecture, history and neighborhoods. This event opens the doors to more than 100 locations to the community. The full list of participating sites will be available online in early September, with many Westown locations expected to be part of the event.

Fall Fest Deer District
Celebrate the start of the fall season at Fall Fest located in the Deer District on September 7 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Families can enjoy activities such as pumpkin painting, chalk art and fall snacks from the local establishments. Margarita Paradise Pop-Up at 310W
310W has partnered with Margarita Paradise, the popular Mexican restaurant located in the Milwaukee Public Market, to offer food service in the building on select days. Tenants and guests can enjoy select breakfast and lunch items on Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. located on the mezzanine floor.

District One has experienced an uptick of crimes in recent weeks, most common being entry to autos. Keep the tips below in mind to keep yourself safe. Report any suspicious activity immediately to the Milwaukee Police Department by calling the non-emergency line at 414-933-4444 or if you are witnessing a crime, call 911 immediately. · Always lock your car doors and close all windows, even when parked for a short time. · Do not leave valuables such as laptops, phones, purses, or shopping bags visible in your vehicle. Back to School Drive
Capuchin Community Services operates the largest food pantry in Milwaukee at the House of Peace, serving freshly-prepared meals every night at St. Ben’s Community Meal at 930 W State Street. Help them also support families with new school supplies. Lend a hand at their Back-to-School Drive by donating monetarily or by purchasing school supplies to donate.
