WPR CLASSICAL MUSIC DAY
On Thursday, December 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., join Wisconsin Public Radio in celebration of WPR’s new classical music service in Milwaukee. WPR host Norman Gilliland will broadcast live from the Bradley Symphony Center with live performances by the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, the Florentine Opera and others. MILWUAKEE COUNTY & CITY OF MILWAUKEE HOLIDAY DRIVE
The City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County are partnering up for the 17th Annual Holiday Drive through December 13. This year, the drive will benefit families and individuals at Meta House. They are seeking donations of all kinds including fuzzy socks and blankets, self-care items and toiletries, toys and board games for kids and more. See their Amazon Wish List and other drop-off locations here. You can also bring your donations to the County Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 2 at 3 p.m. in the County Courthouse Rotunda (901 N 9th St.).

MPL ENTREPRENEUR-IN-RESIDENCE
The Milwaukee Public Library is looking for innovative, impactful and community-focused entrepreneurs to submit proposals their Entrepreneur Residency program. The entrepreneur-in-residence will create workshops and offer one-on-one consultations to support aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs. Interested applicants can find more details at mpl.org/vendors. The deadline to apply is December 1.

MKE ADMIRALS ARE BACK ON THE ICE THIS MONTH
Hockey season is just around the corner, and our hometown team returns to the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena on Saturday, October 19! The Milwaukee Admirals had an incredible 2023-2024 season, going on a 19 game unbeaten streak, which was the second longest stretch in league history. Radio Milwaukee’s 2024 HYFIN Anti-Gala
Join Radio Milwaukee as they host the 2024 HYFIN Anti-Gala on Thursday, October 10 at Turner Hall. The HYFIN Anti-Gala is a fundraiser that celebrates Black excellence and Black Milwaukee. This year’s event includes an awards ceremony honoring Milwaukee’s Black talent, a fashion show inspired by The Wiz designed by Edessa School of Fashion, dinner from award-winning chefs and DJ Bizzon to close out the night. The Milwaukee River Challenge returns to the Menomonee and Milwaukee Rivers on Saturday, October 5. This annual event attracts rowers and spectators from throughout the Midwest. Participants will travel along a three-mile course that comes right through downtown Milwaukee. You can watch the race from one of the recommended vantage points listed here.

DOORS OPEN MILWAUKEE
Doors Open Milwaukee returns September 28 and 29! Doors Open is an annual celebration of Milwaukee’s architecture, history and neighborhoods. This event opens the doors to more than 100 locations to the community.
