On Tuesday, November 14, Westown Association held its 2023 Annual Meeting, presented by We Energies Foundation. Dozens of downtown leaders and stakeholders gathered at the Wisconsin Club to celebrate the organization’s accomplishments in 2023 and recognize this year’s award recipients. During the event, Stacie Callies, Westown’s Executive Director, and Jeff Sherman, Westown’s Board President, recalled the numerous announcements of new developments and businesses relocating to downtown’s premier neighborhood west of the Milwaukee River. The Wisconsin Veteran’s Day Parade returns downtown on Saturday, November 4. The parade steps off on West Wisconsin Avenue at 11 a.m., travels east to Water Street where it turns north and ends at the Marcus Performing Arts Center. The Milwaukee Police Department has introduced a camera registry program, powered by Fusus, which will help law enforcement more efficiently respond to emergencies and perform investigations. Camera registration does not give live video access to MPD, but gives them information on camera locations for when an incident occurs nearby.
