National Marquette Day
On Saturday, February 10 at 5 p.m., the Marquette Men’s Basketball team takes on St. John’s at Fiserv Forum as the Golden Eagles celebrate National Marquette Day. Be prepared to see plenty of blue and gold around the neighborhood as students, alumni and fans ring out ahoya in our bars, restaurants and hotels.

2023 Westown Annual Meeting
On Tuesday, November 14, Westown Association held its 2023 Annual Meeting, presented by We Energies Foundation. Dozens of downtown leaders and stakeholders gathered at the Wisconsin Club to celebrate the organization’s accomplishments in 2023 and recognize this year’s award recipients. During the event, Stacie Callies, Westown’s Executive Director, and Jeff Sherman, Westown’s Board President, recalled the numerous announcements of new developments and businesses relocating to downtown’s premier neighborhood west of the Milwaukee River. The organization celebrated a successful event season from the Shamrock Club of Wisconsin St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the Milwaukee Night Market which attracted over 100,000 visitors to the neighborhood in 2023. After an impressive run at the Maui Jim Invitational last week, the #3 ranked Marquette Golden Eagles take on the Wisconsin Badgers, on this Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Although it is an away game, Westown’s bars and restaurants are sure to busy with fans of both teams. Wisconsin’s Veteran Day Parade
The Wisconsin Veteran’s Day Parade returns downtown on Saturday, November 4. The parade steps off on West Wisconsin Avenue at 11 a.m., travels east to Water Street where it turns north and ends at the Marcus Performing Arts Center. MPD Camera Registry Program
The Milwaukee Police Department has introduced a camera registry program, powered by Fusus, which will help law enforcement more efficiently respond to emergencies and perform investigations. Camera registration does not give live video access to MPD, but gives them information on camera locations for when an incident occurs nearby.
