The Old World Third Street Entertainment District is the place to be in downtown Milwaukee. As you walk down the cobblestone street, you’ll get a sense for both Milwaukee’s German roots and its contemporary transformation through the bars, restaurants and retail options. Shop at longstanding establishments such as Usinger’s Famous Sausage or The Spice House before dining at Who’s on Third, Buck Bradley’s or any of the various locally owned restaurants. The Old World Third Street Entertainment District is also adjacent to many of downtown’s sporting and performance venues, as well as the scenic Milwaukee Riverwalk.

On January 18, 2022, the community gathered for a street renaming ceremony where Old World Third Street was officially unveiled as N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. Westown and the Old World Third Street businesses supported this change and embraced the opportunity to more adequately connect the entertainment district to the existing MLK Drive business district. From West Wisconsin Avenue to McKinley Avenue, you’ll notice new street signs that honor the legacy of Dr. King, and also recognize the history and identity of Old World Third Street.
